Club Vibe:
· Is friendly, welcoming to visitors
· Great volunteers do so much
· Social and welcoming
· Encourages and welcomes new members
· Warm & friendly club house atmosphere
· Really made to feel welcome
· Good banter
· Provides a good Club feeling amongst its members, with the exception of few that offer criticism but who might be reluctant to offer tangible support or solutions.
· Members jumping from hole to hole on non competitive days cutting in front of other etc. Worst I've ever run into on this course.
· One thing is I would like some thought to having the bar open Thursday and Friday nights say example 4-30 to 6-30
· As an under 40 year old member you need to make Saturday more interesting after the round. Sitting at a table with a group of men talking about their last operation isn’t exciting
· The club house after playing is like going back to the 1970’s, get some modern attractions
Course & Facilities:
· Green keepers/volunteers do amazing job
· has a great variety of holes, is well maintained for it’s budget
· offers a good pro. service and golf shop
· With the exception of the Pro shop/driving range, the facilities tend to be ‘tired’ (new cart shed another exception) – particularly the Clubhouse.
· Ground staff spend hours mowing dirt wasting money & fuel
· Big job but potentially add cart paths that level out the hills a bit.
· I believe that we need to utilise the Clubrooms more (as was the case a number of years back). With the new Licencing Laws, I am unsure about the practicability of this?
· Sell playing / staying packages as has been mooted.
· Put in some pokie machines!!!!!
· Develop cart tracks
· Increase water catchment, such as extend number 4 pond into number 8 area
· Explore the options to access fairway watering
· Tarseal driveway and area around club house,(one off cost) saving on ongoing costs repairing pot holes and buying shingle
Playing Golf at GGC:
· course is handy to town
· course in great condition
· well run club days and tournaments
· level the tee boxes
· should organize fundraising tournaments to boost our community involvement
· practice area limited
· continue to upgrade grounds and playing surfaces
· Run a junior club in conjunction with Peter Hayes
· Nice if the course was re-rated, harder than its rating
· Change up some of the weekend competitions
· ‘Blue’ championship tees
· Card machine outside Hayzes
· Ambrose competition for fundraising
· 9 hole ambrose on Sunday afternoons
· Tee Times on competition days awkard - middle of day should be earlier
· Sunday competition for general public with reduced green fees
· Slow play particularly Saturdays
· Love twilight
· Sponsors Day
Communication:
· New members – how do existing members know who they are
· New members – how to make them feel included
· Volunteers – need to be recognized
· Members input for planning and members opinions
· Promoting the club in social media
· Better, more transparent communication with members on committee issues and decisions, keep committee members very accessible to members and invite their views regularly before making decisions.
· Copies of meetings minutes displayed for members?
· Card kiosk needs to be more accessible
· Regular newsletters to keep members informed of events and progress on course Such as, Repairs and Maintenace on the club house, machinery purchases, if any
· Some of our course directions/signage could be improved
·
Revenue Generating:
· I believe that we need to utilise the Clubrooms more (as was the case a number of years back). With the new Licencing Laws, I am unsure about the practicability of this?
· Sell playing / staying packages as has been mooted.
· Put in some pokie machines!!!!!
· An ambrose competition most other courses run them as fundraisers a great social competition,
· Promote Geniti golf course to incorporate cruise ships and other functions
· Could be scope for a 9 hole ambrose on sunday arvos run over winter, similar to the one run at levels on thursday nights.
· Run a Sunday competition to cater for the general public with reduced green fees. This would also cater for our members who can’t play on Saturday
